CMS Fair in Berlin

On September 21, the Board of Directors gathered in Berlin, on the occasion of the CMS exhibition. CMS is Europe’s most successful industry platform for cleaning and hygiene. This is where the entire range of expertise meets in 2023. The international cleaning trade fair CMS Berlin offers a complete market overview of products, systems and processes for all commercial cleaning technology. The focus of the industry show is on innovations and further technical developments in cleaning machines and equipment as well as cleaning, care and disinfection agents.

President Mattioli steered discussions on key topics, outlining a strategic path forward for EFCI.

The Board of Directors meeting holds a pivotal role in shaping the strategic trajectory of the European Cleaning and Facility Services Industry (EFCI). It serves as a crucial forum where members converge to articulate a distinct business position, setting the industry apart from union perspectives. As the industry grapples with the profound impact of the last four years of intense EU legislative activity, the Board becomes a nexus for actively shaping EFCI’s requests and demands within the political landscape. In the broader context, this convergence represents not only an opportunity for visibility and institutional recognition, as exemplified by the forthcoming public hearing in October organized by the European Parliament on public procurement, but a defining moment in outlining the industry’s horizontal activity as it navigates towards the elections in 2024.

In essence, the Board of Directors meeting delineated a strategic roadmap for EFCI, emphasizing the need for a distinct business voice, active political engagement, collaborative platforms, and resilience in the face of challenges. These focused discussions will guide EFCI’s actions in the coming months, ensuring a purposeful and impactful trajectory for the organization.

EFCI also participated to the CMS exhibtion. The international trade fair for cleaning systems, building management and services is one of the most important cleaning trade fairs in the world and co-organized by BIV, the German confederation of the cleaning companies, member of EFCI among its organisers. The CMS Berlin is a high-quality marketing platform for new contacts, image cultivation and business potential in the international cleaning market. The experience was not only an opportunity to connect with industry leaders but also a platform to engage with the Swiss association, Allpura, (in the picture) focusing on the industry’s unwavering commitment to sustainability and innovation.

On September 22nd, EFCI’s Director General, Matteo Matarazzo, took the stage, delivering an insightful presentation on the sustainable and structural adoption of “daytime cleaning” in Europe. The insights shared underscored the industry’s dedication to environmentally conscious practices and innovative approaches to cleaning.
