The EFCI, 30 years of European services

1988 Nine national employers’ associations committed to set up a European Organisation of Contract Cleaning Associations, setting-forth the foundation of the European Cleaning and Facility Services Industry.

They aimed at:

  • Being the spokesmen before the ECC authorities
  • Harmonizing regulations
  • Developing cooperation between their trade associations,
  • Creating a community of professional interests.

1998 The EFCI officially became an international non-profit association under Belgian law (a.i.s.b.l.).

1999 The EFCI entered into a formalised Social Dialogue with its social partner, UNI-Europa.

2018 The EFCI became the European Cleaning and Facility Services Industry, and adopted a new image and strategy.
