EFCI’S ONLINE WEEK: PROGRAMME ANNOUNCED – REGISTRATION OPEN

The (almost) final programme of the Online Week is available here. The Online Week will feature daily seminars between 11.00 and 12.30 CET, and it will reunite EFCI members and stakeholders with representatives of the European Institutions and sector’s representatives.

– On Monday 11 October, Nicholas Schmit, European Commissioner for Jobs and Social Rights, will inaugurate the Online Week (tbc). His intervention will be followed by the presentation of EFCI’s 2021 Report on the state of the industry, which builds on the reputed EFCI surveys. This years’ edition is completed with a study on the effects of COVID-19, which will be analysed by experts from various EFCI members.

– The session of Tuesday 12 October, will invite policy makers and experts to discuss how the sector can contribute and benefit from Europe’s recovery plans. The panel will be introduced by the President of the European Economic and Social Committee (Christa Schweng) and will include the presentation of the EU’s recovery strategy by Maria Teresa Fabregas, Director of the Task Force Recover of the European Commission. Further, the chair of IFMA EMEA will present his views on the future of building management after Covid. Patricia Charrier-Izel will present the sector’s views on how to shape policies to enhance the sector’s contribution to recovery, and the panel will close with testimonials of cleaning contractor’s experiences in creating meaningful.

– On Wednesday 13 October, the EFCI invites association and cleaning company leaders to an exchange on the current and future challenges of the sector in the framework of an online Executive Summit. Company and associations executives from EFCI’s members will be invited to analyse the level of preparedness of the sector for the challenges ahead and specially for the green and digital transitions. Interpretation from and to English will be provided.

-Thursday 14 October will be dedicated to sustainability and the green transition of the sector. The session will be introduced by Mayor Ricardo Rio, Rapporteur on SDGs of the European Committee of the Regions and Mayor of Braga, Portugal. Representatives of the European Commission will then present the Commission’s Circular Economy Plan and the Fit for 55 package and in this way, by analysing both regulatory aspects to practical examples of how the sector’s company are re-designing their businesses to go circular, the seminar will provide tools for discussion and analysis for cleaning and facility services companies of all sizes.

– Friday 15 will close the week with a session on innovation and digitalisation, seeking to improve the industry’s readiness for new technologies with the challenges and opportunities they bring along, in a panel that will unite policy forecasts, suppliers’ views and industries’ success experiences. Among others, colleagues from EUnited will present the Facility Data Standard, an open communication standard for manufacturers of digital tools for facilities management that the organisation has recently developed.
