EFCI’s Covid-19 actions
The Cleaning and Facility Services sector is at the forefront of the fight against the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID19). Its role is crucial in the provision of sanitization operations, currently undergoing across Europe, and the maintenance of hygiene and cleanliness in hospitals, nursing homes, and all kinds of buildings and infrastructures.
Cleaning companies and agents will be key to enable a phased-in re-start of social and economic activities across Europe. Indeed, the Joint European Roadmap of 15 April includes recommendations on “intensifying regular cleaning and disinfection of transport hubs, shops and workplaces” and enhanced cleaning of schools and universities.
Cleaning and Facility Services companies are ready to help Europe in its reopening. To make that possible, decision-makers must actively support the sector, which is and has been severely hit by the closures of buildings and infrastructures. A sectoral approach, analysing the consequences of the containment measures in the different economic ecosystems is needed.
This page highlights EFCI and its members’ main actions to support companies and advocate for the sectors’ urgent needs to continue containing the spread of the virus also during Europe’s recovery phase.
