European Employers’ Network (EEN) at BusinessEurope
The EEN, which is organised several times per year by BusinessEurope, offers a regular platform of information, discussion and exchanges of experience on issues of concern for European employers associations’ representatives. The following subjects were discussed:
- Tripartite Social Summit on 17 October 2011: discussion on the main messages to be brought forward and designation of the EEN member to be included in the BusinessEurope delegation
- Working time: discussion on latest developments regarding the revision of the directive
- Posting of workers: presentation by the European Construction Industry Federation (FIEC) of joint initiative of European social partners in the construction sector in view of upcoming Commission’s proposals on posting of workers
- EU sector skills councils: presentation by two sectors (commerce and textile) in which a sector skills council has been set up and exchange of information in order to assess the effectiveness of EU sector skills councils in different sectors
- Activities in the cross-industry social dialogue: Social Dialogue Work Programme after 2011 and new round of projects on social dialogue and on active ageing
- Activities in the sectoral social dialogue: exchange of information on the basis of the monitor report and ongoing social impact assessments
- Update on other social affairs dossiers: BusinessEurope publications on “putting Europe to work”; restructuring; corporate social responsibility; pregnant workers
